Today I decided to cut my hair off. Piper Jane has been pulling it nonstop, and it is (was) just so ridiculously long. When I would lean on my elbow to hoist myself up in a seat (does that make sense?) my hair would be pulled by my own elbow. I was seeing how long I could get it, and I guess I now know…really, really long. I LOOOOVE long hair. I really do and always have, but I have had the same hair for way too long, and a change always does a body good.
So when I got to work, I walked straight to Ofelia and said “Ofelia, I want you to cut my hair short. Please.”
She said “Great! How would you like it?”
I said “Windy and Blowy. Like a paperdoll from the 1980s.”
She didn’t know what I meant and then I realized I was no better than the guy who brings comic books in and says he wants the same hair as Flash Gordon.
So, THIS is what I meant by windy and blowy and paperdoll-y….

I have the hugest hair ever. I am so happy. If you want to tell me it looks like I have a bird’s nest on one side of my head, I will say “thank you” and beam with huge hair happiness.
I was so surprised at my lack of emotion during the haircut. I felt so much relief and excitement throughout the process. Yes, I miss my long hair already, but this is going to be really fun. Hooray!

Oh my gosh Reagan…I LOVE it!! You are a gorgeous girl no matter what…but I am loving the new do! I love long hair. And big hair. I also remember what a pain it was to keep my hair out of everything all the time. I still kind of do.
There is an extremely logical reason that paper dolls have blowy hair. It’s so that they can have long hair, but still have exposed shoulders for which to fold the clothes tabbies over. Who knew it would start a hair fashion trend among three dimensional people who don’t need exposed shoulders in order to hold up their clothes?
