what we ate for dinner

dont judge us.

jake sent me a link to a new dinner item at a restaurant called the “burger melt”. it is a hamburger, but instead of a bun it is inbetween two grilled cheese sandwiches. are you judging us? i just thought it would be funny to make them. here is jake’s bacon burger melt.

i obviously (being vegetarian) did things a little different for mine. I knew two entire grilled cheeses would be way too much food for me, so i carefully sliced a regular slice of bread into two slices of bread to make a really skinny grilled cheese on either side of a veggie burger. then i put lots of veggies on and used pam spray instead of butter when making the grilled cheeses. it was honestly still too much, but I didn’t want to feel left out.

jake said it was delicious. i think it will be the only veggie burger melt i ever need to eat in this lifetime, but it was pretty fun to make them!

ps jake eats the biggest meals out of anyone i have ever met. he should be 400lbs. the other day he was like “hey i went down a belt hole.”

how?

ps, i find it suitable to thank you in this post for your hilarious barfing stories.

Those look really good. The Veggie-B sounds amazing.

The only thing that could have made this better is to cover it in bacon and fry it. I want one when you come visit.

lol my brother has told me about these and offered me to come over so he can make me one. Sounds like a heart attack! My husband’s favorite meal in the world is a good cheeseburger….maybe I should try to make him one.

I am not judging you. In fact, I just shared this idea with my husband and he is singing your praises. We might have to try this tonight:)

I’ve judged you. Fear not, it is favorable.

oh my word. seth is the same way. he’s an obese in the body of an anorexic. not fair. my weight goals during pregnancy were: just don’t weigh more than seth! i think i made it, but he was probably just lying to me. smart man.

whaaaaaaat?? that idea is genius. i am going to start putting more things between grilled cheese sandwiches. i probably should specify that i will be putting food things between grilled cheese sandwiches, and not stuff like manila folders or paint supplies.

Dude. Serious food you guys got here. I think both would be tasty, but yours is the lesser of the two evils. So yum.

Reagan I started reading your “blob” a few months ago. I know, I have been secretly stalking you. Not really stalking because isn’t that what blogs are? But still it felt like stalking because I didn’t leave a comment. Anyway I just wanted you to know that you TRULY inspire me. I think your little Pip (can I call her Pip?) is absolutely beautiful. I think about her all the time. Really I do. I want to hold her and I don’t even know her. I haven’t seen you since high school but I really do love your little girl. I am inspired because you seem like the most amazing mother. I could really learn a lot from you. I have been very selfish and grouchy about my daughter’s health and you seem so positive and strong. You have inspired me to have a better attitude and to try and be a better mother. I’m sorry this comment is so serious but anyway I will probably continue to stalk you on your blob. You are hilarious and I love reading about your experiences.
