Piper in the window

As I was saying earlier, I can’t get enough of these piptures from our sunday visit. Pip was just the happiest, cutiest pipsqueak that I ever knew.

I’ll call these photos “how much is that pippy in the window?”. Before I start getting comments with bids for her, let’s make sure you all know that she isn’t for sale at all. Go find your own.

Isn’t her hair so funny? We don’t call her Pippy for nuthin’!

    Hello!

I was just introduced to your family via CJane, and wow! How beautiful and joyful, and what a pleasure and honor to read.

Pip walking is AMAZING!!! So excited for her and for you and Jake. The time outside looked grand. Pippy in the window is the best. Yay Pip. And now you are on CJane – fancy and fantastic.

I just saw you on CJane and had to come look at your blog. Your family is amazing and your little girl is the cutest little thing ever! You are an inspiration to all of us moms that think our lives are hard for the most inconsequential things. Can’t wait to read more about cutey little Pippy!

I saw Ellen’s (EP) post about your article on C Jane and inspiring doesn’t even come close to it. It was a timely reminder to me about perspective, thank you. And one more thing, there are as many types of mothering as children in the world, and you two (plus Dad) are a perfect fit.

    reagan,
i jumped over here from cjane and have just spent the past hour reading back through your blog. i especially loved this part from the father’s day post:
“i felt sad for myself that i was alone. i felt sad that no one knew i was a mom. but then i felt the saddest when i saw jake rounding the last stretch of the race without his little girl clapping so excitedly to see him finish.”
you have such an inspiring little family. growing up, and still, i look forward most of all to becoming a mom. i love that you say that you’re family’s just a little “different,” but that you still spend time as a family.
    just inspiring.

I just found your link through C Jane, and I could not help but stop and just tell you something! I am not even sure what to say! I have been reading through past posts for about an hour crying, laughing, wanting to clap my hands for joy, grabbing my chest with pain, the works. Your little Pip may be the sweetest little thing I have ever seen! You and your husband must be the most incredible people ever! I am forever a different person for having had the opportunity to peak at your life through your blob.
All the best to you and your beautiful family!

  • Comment from Brooke

I too found your journal from CJane. I LOVE your style of writing and your ‘made up’ words :) Piper is just too cute for words !
I read the last year of entries and need to keep reading. It’s amazing the progress she has made and I can’t wait to read on her further progress !!!

  • Comment from April

I too jumped over from cjane. I’ve spent the last 40 minutes being inspired by your blob. I read a post titled intraosseous-puncture-can-suck-it and yes, I cried. You make a comment about not having chose this and how you don’t feel worthy of the praise people give you.
I have a powerful belief that we knew what we would get here on earth and we told God we would be willing to take on the challanges we’ve been given. It says a lot about you and your husband that you could take care of a beautiful soul like Piper’s. She needs amazing and stong people to be her parents. You obviously fit the bill.
I can’t imagine how much strength it takes to have your child’s home be someplace other than your own. Or to watch the trials she goes through daily.
Piper as well as you and Jake have inspired me to be better.

  • Comment from SaRaH

Piper really is the best ever. I just spent two weeks in another country on a mission trip and I called home every other day mostly to see if you’d updated. Piper going outside was amazing news! We go ape wild over here for her and are cheering your family on for Cincinnati every ‘step’ of the way. You rock as a mom, Reag — keep it up!

  • Comment from Kimmomofnine

I found your blog linked on Kendra Smoot’s family blog. I spent the last hour reading and couldn’t stop. I find your little family inspiring. Really truly.

Hey Reagan – I also found you on CJane’s blog and I thought it was such a beautiful, well written, loving post. I’m also from the NYC area and I love all the references to this great city in your blog. And I love reading about lil Piper and all her adorable pipisms (you can use “pip” in so many forms! so cute!) All the best to you and your family.

  • Comment from Lori

    Hi Reagan,
I too found you via Cjane’s blog and just spent the last few hours reading many of your old posts.
I just want to say that you are an AWESOME mommy to your adorable little “Pip” and it is VERY clear how bonded she is to you and that she KNOWS you are her mommy!
I can’t imagine the day to day stressors you, Jake and Piper must deal with and I know there must be some very rough days but you guys are such an inspiration! Piper is an angel–she doesn’t complain–to her, her life is “normal.” (And if you ask me, normal is highly overrated anyway lol!) I pray that there will soon be a NEW normal for all of you and that is to have Piper home with her family.
I read in one of your posts that you are afraid to have another child… (I have not yet read about your pregnancy and delivery with Miss Piper) I think that it is normal to be afraid but I also think, if and when you and Jake are ready, you will be able to “face your fear and do it anyway.” You two are wonderful parents (Piper, honey, the Lord and you did a good job picking out your mommy and daddy!) and there just may be another infant soul waiting to land in your arms to bless you and big sister Piper Jane!
    Hugs and prayers, Lori

Found you through Cjane. I think I read your whole blog yesterday during naps and after bedtime :) God has really blessed all of you and that Piper is surely a sweet little thing!
The way you handle life, with grace, honesty, and love is inspiring. You wise beyond your years!

My friend just had her 3rd child, a little girl as well. Her daughter was born with with a syndrome and faces many years of surgeries and hospitalization. My friend is VERY private about their situation, which I respect but it also leaves me wondering how she is feeling and what the situation is really like. I know that your story is different from theirs, but there are a lot of similarities. Thank you for sharing, your story has given me some insight into the journey that my dear friend is traveling.

    Blessings to your family!!

And also, I have been reading your blob for the last hour and a half whilst my children (2&4) dump cereal on my kitchen floor. This is the first time seeing your wonderful bird. She is just adorable and will now forever be my favorite bird. i live in alabama and just know that prayers will be going up daily for you and your family to have have long and full life.

  • Comment from jeanie

i had seen you and your baby bird over on cjane. i was thinking they have those look-a-like dolls at american girl and if i ever saw a doll who looked anything like your Piper, i would buy no less than seventeen of them. or eight hundred. she’s a plum. a peach. her face. slays me. everynight, i promise you, she will be a prayer to st. jude that she is home with you some day; i love your posts when you say you love her with all her attachments and i do too and dream of her free of them in your bed at home. she’s perfect either way. i originally emailed asking if i could send her a toy or a something. i’m stumped now that i’ve looked at all your pippy posts at all her sweet things. would you ever say if a gift sent to where she spends her days is too overwhelming for you? i love her beautiful eyes. and her shoe-sies. you’re so lucky to have that little face look at you.
