Piper Jane goes outside

This is a ton of piptures. This time I mean it. I just kept liking more and more and had to post a lot. Yesterday Piper Jane was so happy and cute that I keep thinking about the day and smiling. Plus it’s the big kind of smile that you do on the subway and then you remember that people are probably scared because you have a huge evil grin for some unknown reason. I wish I could just say “Don’t worry guys, this smile is because of Piper!”, but they’d probably just look at each other and shrug.

Anyway, here are two thousand piptures of our walk around the facility and our adventure outside. enjoy. Also, does anyone know where I can get some tiney tennis balls to put on Pip’s walker? I’ve seen old ladies with them and I figured they’re important.

(in this little romper, Piper Jane looks like Jake’s grandpa Breinholt. plus she is stopping to take a breather which is my favorite thing ever. And probably yours too.)

It’s a litle hard to tell the difference between Pip’s biggest smile and her squintiest squint.

I like this below picture because if it were a race I would have won by a toe. Next time I’ll go a half size up.

So fun. And man it felt good to get out of that room.

Thank so much for being so sweet about Piper Jane’s walking progress. I’m so proud of her, but so are you. I love hearing your support and cheers for my little Peabody Piper. I feel so special to have so many people reading about her and sending her fruitful vibes of encouragement. I told her about you guys and she squeaked.

Awww yay! She looks so happy outside! And she looks like she’s been walking her whole life–she’s such a pro! Those smiles are killer, man. I wish I knew where to get some tiny tennis balls because I’d totes send you some.

  • Comment from elysa

they make small tennis balls for dogs that would probably work! you can buy them at most pet stores. (and, old ladies use tennis balls to help the walker slide better:))

  • Comment from Sarah

I loved all one thousand and one of them (I counted)!!
I find myself talking about Piper to Tom all the time. I didn’t realize how much until just now when I was so excited for her little romp outside that I wanted to tell him all about it right away. As if it were a victory for us too or something. Which, now that I’ve begun stalking your blog, does kinda feel like it I must say. :)
Thanks for sharing! So glad you had such a lovely family day.
    P.S. You’re hot.

Your Piper is the cutest tiny little cuddle bug I have ever seen (except my own four kids of course). I am writing and reading from St. George Utah and soon Petersburg Alaska and wanted to let you know that this post was a bright spot in my otherwise very crazy day. Your little family is adorable and inspiring. Thanks for sharing!

I’m a first time comment poster but have been reading your blog for awhile and think you are so funny [and I of course think Piper is super cute!). Pet stores have small tennis balls that would totally work!!

  • Comment from Rae

LOOK how freaking CUTE!!!!! I DIED over these piptures. For real.
And totally laughed out loud at the thought of grinning on the subway because I’ve totally done it, and then felt like a creeper.

I love her romper and pigtails! She looks like a happy girl to be walking. I think that tennis balls help the walker to slide and I have seen mini ones as cat toys so check out a pet store and I will keep my eyes out for you. BTW: I LOVE your skirt!

Hi there. New reader via designmom. The pictures of you sitting in the grass cradling your daughter brought tears to my eyes. That picture is worth 1,000 words so beautiful that I can’t even begin to phrase them. What a wonderful moment. I hope many more beautiful days like this are coming your way.

go Pipsqueak! love your blog, it brings so many smiles to my days. we have a tiny babyboy, born 3.5 months premature. Saddly we lost his identical twinbrother, but we got the time to hold, kiss, sing and tell him how much we loved him. Just reading Pip´s truly amazing battle helps me to cope with this time of life. from the other side of the world, we say Pipprayers.

  • i feel so happy for you all after looking at these! exquisite in every way.

  • Comment from Meg

Whenever I think I am having a trial YOU AND YOURS WILL COME TO MIND and then I wont mind. My life has been so easy and free compared to yours. I feel ashamed of all the times I thought my life was hard. YOU ARE THE MOST COURAGEOUS PEOPLE “I know” I shall tell everyone I know about Piper and her joy and her love and her remarkable parents. Life is Beautiful because now I know Who is beautiful. My prayers ascend on high for you all. deemom

I’m not sure if you’re allowed to post actual links on other people’s blogs (I’m also not sure who would enforce such a rule…), but here are some cute mini-tennis balls that might work.

    Hi Reagan,

New reader too, I browsed throught your blog this morning and
    1) you have a very cute and moving little girl, she seems to be an amazing person
    2) … which is unsurprising because after all, you also seem to be amazing parents
    3) if I ever move to NYC, I’ll get a flat next to yours because I play cello (or rather, am learning to – and that does make a difference) http://www.reagansblob.com/2009/09/aunt-jody-came/

I wish you all 3 a nice summer, and especially to Piper -have fun exploring around!

I found your blob a week or so ago, through a comment on one of c.jane’s facebook posts (someone refered to it, I think…I was interested and googled you! )I haven’t been able to read more than a few of your posts, but already I am in awe of what a wonderful mommy you are and what a beautiful little girl piper jane is. I LOVED your post on c.jane today. I feel like it really caught me up on things, since I haven’t read much of your blob. (I love that you call it a blob. I might start copying you :) ) anyway, thanks so much for sharing your story!!

Hi again! I just read your guest post on C Jane Run and oh man, am I crying. You’re an amazing writer. You and Jake are so talented in so many different ways. I can’t think of anyone awesomer to be Pip’s parents than you two. There is no manual for how to be a parent, but you guys are totally NAILING it. Like every day, even! I admire you so, so much. If I were in your shoes I would be a huge mess and you manage to make it all look so easy. You’re incredible. I hope you come to town soon so I can meet you foreals!

  • Comment from Robin

All I can say is that your ability (as seen through your photos) to enjoy life even though I am sure sometimes you feel like crying IS INSPIRATIONAL! I have not lived much over the past 6 years due to infertility issues and recurrent miscarriages. I have been coming out of my sadness bit by bit but have grown leaps after spending time on your blob today. Thank you for sharing your story. I WILL NOT PITY MYSELF ONE MORE DAY for my pain is so small in comparison to what many endure.
