Piper Jane goes walking

For the last few weeks, Piper Jane has been sick. I don’t really think she is feeling all that bad, but she has got to be tired and annoyed with all the vomiting, fevers, extra suctioning, baths etc..I know that I’m tired of being pooped and vomited on, wiping her nose more than usual, suctioning her every five minutes and cleaning/bathing after the vomiting. If I’m tired, she’s got to be tired-er. I’m not sure why it’s lingering like this, but I hope she gets better soon. I don’t care to ever wipe a nose or mouth or bum again. Not even my own. (but I might not be able to get out of that one)

Even though the Pip is kind of sick, she is feeling well enough for therapy. I have to say, I was shocked at how well that pipsqueak walked today considering she had just exploded gigantic explosions out of each end. Ha! I knew I would have a poop story soon! She pooped an epic poop today and sunday. It grosses me out when people talk about their kid’s poops a lot, but I just have to to complete the barf/snot/poop trio. Trio completed y’all.

As I was saying, Piper Jane walked, and she walked good. This is new to her. She fights even just standing up a lot of times. Her PT, Karen, pointed out that we are back to where we were before she left for Wanaque the end of December. I was glad she pointed that out, it made me happy, but it also really frustrated me that it took 7 full months for her to recover from one week of being at that terrible place. I mean, she just spent 20% of her lifetime recovering and regaining progress she didn’t have to lose. Eww. Chant with me to not think about my hatreds.

Don’t think about your hatreds, don’t think about your hatreds…

Join me and celebrate the wonderful milestone Piper Jane Breinholt achieved for the second time. She works really hard to walk so good and look so cute.

The door that is open at the end of the below picture is her room. She walked all that way plus a little more plus back to her room. Sometimes I complain that my bathroom is next to my front door, because it seems really far away when it’s the middle of the night and I would rather risk an accident than get out of bed to go number one. Well, Piper Jane walked like 20 times that, so I can just keep that in mind next time that happens tonight.

Here is a cute video of us leaving her room. Watch for Piper’s curious face at the very end when there is a complication with the vent, I died…

and here she is sped up to 2x. Maybe you can tell that I am obsessed with Pippy’s walking today. It might be because it was the only part of the visit that I wasn’t being pooped and or puked on. Poor little poopy piper.
