The temperature dropped almost 20 degrees. It’s only 90s now instead of 105, 106, 107…we’ve been getting glorious rain again, soft breezes and cooler mornings. I ran 7 miles this morning and it was only 75 degrees! I was like “look at you 75 degrees! I want to smother you and romp around with you until my hair is messy!”. I hope your kids left the room for that one. If you’re like “Reags, you’re so weird! Just stop!”, keep in mind that Things could have been worse! I could have said ****** *****.
I’m proving with this picture below (that Jake took) that it is indeed cool enough for a jacket. I mean, it probably isn’t, I think I was pushing it, but it is just so nice to leave the house in something other than your nudes.
This jacket was 17 dollars at Gap. Jake and I are currently arguing that I should have “checked with him” before buying it, but I say that 17 dollars is so free that it would have been a waste and insult to both of our lives to bother with such a “check”. Whose with me? I have an idea, let’s yell! WHOSE WITH ME??

We only check for things over $50. Otherwise I’d be “checking” with Dan 50 times a day.
Kidding, sort of.
Total waste of time. You’re not students living on ramen. Psh. Silly Jake.
But maybe single girls shouldn’t be allowed to weigh on in these matters because I check with no one! Muahaha….
Maybe Jake’s bummed you didn’t get him one too!
I’m totally with you on that! Love your blog.
I’m yelling “I’M WITH YOU!!!” Can you hear me all the way from the Hamptons? Maybe the wind will carry my voice…
Check with him for a $17 jacket? Hell to the NO.
Plus, that jacket is super cute. I live in NY too (Long Island) and I am going to EXPLODE if I don’t feel a cool breeze soon. It’s gotten so bad that I’m fantasizing about Christmas, corduroys, and snow days.
I’m so with you on that!
Holy crap! The post of Piper Jane walking is the most adorable thing I have ever seen. Even my husband loved it (and teared up a bit). Seriously. Don’t tell him I told you that.
forget about jake. the jacket is lovely AND cheap. just tell him it’s old and you found it in your closet next time haha
check with him? pleeease jake. they were practically giving it away.
go pip with the walking! love that you took her outside in that last post– i was looking around at grass and trees thinking “wait! is she ok! thats not her hospital room!” but i figured you guys, her parents, knew what was up.

Sorry, Jake! It’s $17! Jaaaaake, are you jeeeaaaalous?
Great look! I can’t wait ’til I’m able to run over 5 miles without gasping for breath. Ok. Without dying.

Nice jacket — and wonderful daughter! I am visiting here after reading your guest post on C Jane.
Why would your husband want you to check about buying a jacket that costs less than good Chinese takeout? Maybe there’s some back story here, about some agreement regarding your finances that I don’t understand because I haven’t been reading your blog, but it seems kind of…inefficient. See nice cheap jacket, buy nice cheap jacket — works much better.
Guess what — I live in Japan, married to a Japanese guy. How about THAT!
We established an ‘interiors budget’ that covers everything outside of normal life… including fun budgets etc. I sound cool already, right? Right? There’s a set amount for the year and I have the go-to on how we spend it. Power! Until it runs out I can no longer spend $17 on the jacket… until the next year. It has been a MARRIAGE GIFT.
Just found your blog via C-Jane. That Piper is sweetness on toast. A great little face And I love the walk-around. Just wanted to tell you that I’m so glad I stumbled upon your delightful corner of the interweb and thank you for your gift with words.
