Reagan and Jake have a dog (for a min.)

This isn’t really our dog, but we luh-huv him. Bear is our friends’ dog, and we’ve been watching him since Friday while they are away with family. He has been the best dog slash guest. Having a dog is a big job, especially in the city, but Jake might eventually go for it….(when we are both ready, which we aren’t and probably wont be for a long tim) thanks to Bear’s good behavior.

Anyway, we’ve had a nice, cool, rainy week(end) here in NYC. We did a long run on Saturday, Jake ran 20 and I ran 16. It was breezey and perfect. It was the last day of Summer Streets, and it I loved changing up my route for my long run. Summer Streets means that every Saturday in August they close off Park Avenue from 72nd to the Brooklyn Bridge, so bikers and runners can be free and happy. This is the third year they’ve done it, and we’ve gone every year.

I’m getting anxious for fall with this beautiful weather, it’s my favorite and we have a great line-up for fall activities.

And here they are. Eh hemmm…
~Philadelphia half marathon next month
~Fashion week in NYC is a big, awesome deal
~Hartford half marathon (jake is running the full) in October
~Tennessee for a mini Baker family reunion
~Halloween! Wait til you see Pip. It’s a surprise.
~NYC marathon. I’m actually getting excited.
~Everything above is awesome and fun.

Back to our dog, here are a few pictures of the adorable Bear, and our Sunday evening walk with him.

And here is a really good one that Jake took of Bear when he was feeling model-y.

The dog is nice and all, but I mostly like your boots.

Bear looks like my Molly :)
I too like the shot of your boots and the Bear.

We have a black dog named Bear!!! Our Bear is 120 lbs of teddy bear–he loves to sit in Daddy’s lap so it’s a good thing that Daddy is 6’6. LOL

You have a busy fall coming up.

l.o.v.e. galoshes! is that spelled right? i can’t believe i live where it only doesn’t rain for like 1 month a year and i still don’t own galoshes.
ps don’t get a dog, it’ll just make scott want a dog more and i DO NOT need that!

So funny…I expected Bear to be a big BEAR of a dog. He’s so cute.

    (Also love the boots!)

You guys are so cute with the Bear! I’d say you need a dog of your own, but looking at Le Schedule Of Events, perhaps not. I’m tired just reading about all that running! I’m signed up to do my first post-pregnancy 5k this weekend, and I’m nervous. So send me some awesome Running Thoughts this weekend, would ya? :-)

  • Ha! It took my computer a second to load the photos, so I started reading the text. Then when the photos did load, I was so surprised to see that “Bear” was such a tiny little dog! I love the irony of it :)

    I love Bear.

I love bear! I have a pug and she is just the best. Except for when she peed in the bed the other night (I’m thinking/hoping she was having a bad dream).

and how cute are you w/ those boots?!

I am a dog person, so I loved seeing your sweet little house guest. He is such a cutie.

Bear looks so happy! Being in the city makes me want a dog so much. I was on Park on Sunday and was so confused but now that I know what it is, I might just run down to the bridge!

I live in Philly and the half marathon will run right by my house! I’ll be sure to stand outside and yell at all the cute blondes with accompanying hot husbands who run by: “Go Reagan, HOORAY!!”

LOVE the dog…so cute! LOVE the boots…even cuter! I’m curious, has Piper ever seen a live animal? Like a therapy dog or something?

With a name like “Bear” I was expecting a big old dog and I thought to myself,”they are so nice to tend a dog for a whole weekend in a tiny NYC apartment.” I don’t actually know how big your apartment is but going off of when I lived in CT, I can only assume it’s not massive. Anyway, Bear is tiny (which made me relieved for you). What a cute cute dog!!! Was Pip able to see him?

What I was thinking was… “Piper would love to see him!”
Dogs are ggggggGREAT! I LOVE my greyhound to pieces. I can’t imagine life without him!

I don’t know you and Jake, but I do know Bear! My husband goes way back with Bear’s parents. How lucky for you to get to watch him. Pip is adorable.
