Reagan and Jake go out

After work on Tuesday night, Jake and I went to some parties. Even though every day is a party in our marriage, we don’t actually do the all night party thing too often. For one, I like to have my tea in hand and floral leggings on legs by at least 9pm..

Anyway, it ended up being a great night. I got to wear my new fishnet dress and shoes that I got through my sweet Bottega Veneta hook up (i feel a need to remind of my hook up because i could otherwise not even afford to window shop there), I got to meet DEXTER (i’m such a fan of the show. such a fan), and Jake finally got to meet Joe. More on that later.

We started by going to the Kiehl’s party near union square. The artist Jeff Koonz was there to receive a check for his foundation, so there were a few random celebrities there. I had tunnel vision for Dexter’s Michael C. Hall. I talked to him for about 10 minutes, until I awkwardly told him about Piper Jane. I had intentions of letting him know how much of an escape his show was as we watched the entire series on my laptop last winter when Piper Jane was in the PICU, but then I kind of felt guilty because his jaw was on the ground. I know that I’m comfortable and used to discussing sick children, but it’s quite a shock to other people. Which I can understand of course. Anyway, I’m such a fan. Such a fan. If you don’t watch the show, you really should be. It’s worthy of the much praise it’s given.

Here is my whole outfit. I don’t love this picture because the shadow behind my legs makes them look like tree trunks. Please notice the shadows aren’t part of my legs. And in case you weren’t aware before, you now know that I am a bit body conscious. Beans spillt, haha!

Jake took this picture of our friend Zack. For some reason I really love it. (btw, do any of you use Kiehl’s products? they’re so great. I use pretty much nothing else on my face.)

After leaving we headed over to W. Houston (pronounced How-Stun) for a wrap party for the film I extra’d my little brains out in. My friend Jen’s boyfriend (this is where Joe comes in!) was a co-producer, and could not wait for Jake to meet him. Mostly since they both have beards I figured that frienship would be a shoo-in.

Here are the produceres, the director and writer of the movie. And me and Jen in the background likely finding some trouble to get into.

If you can find the time, please note the wall paper in the above photo. It’s not just normal Damask. It’s a fire hydrant, a rat, a parking meter and a pigeon. I LOVED it. So clever.

And never to be left out of the spotlight, Jake’s beard. I love beardsly, I do…but it has totally allowed fame to it’s little beard head. Jake’s new full name is Jake Beardenholt.

My friend Rae has a list of all the celebrities she’s seen and where..I think I’m going to make a similar post. One day maybe I’ll like to brag to my children or cats or porcelain doll collection of the experiences I had in my 20s. Good idea, right?

I almost forgot the coolest part of the story! Dexter’s wife was the lead actress in the movie that Joe made. I told him about it! haha.

I never ended up meeting her.

    Hurray! Blog shout out.
You should totally do the list. When people back home ask me what famous people I’ve seen I’m always like, “Um………I don’t know.” I can never remember, so the list is perfect.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the dress. So hot.
And after last night’s convo I’m officially going to start watching Dexter. Soon. I’m in the middle of being sucked into Friday Night Lights right now and I’m totally neglecting my DVR. (Wow, aren’t you so glad you’re friends with someone who watches so much tv?) DBJ everyone…

Maybe Jake already told you, but I’m super jealous you met DEXTER, or Michael C. Hall, but really Dexter. Jon and I just finished the first season. We’re hooked! I love that you just walked right up to him and had the guts to really say anything at all, but actually tell him about yourself and everything. You are pro at meeting celebrities. I’d probably just mumble and make googley eyes. Hooray!

Michael C. Hall is amazing. Once upon a time I saw him in Cabaret. And if you haven’t seen all seasons of Six Feet Under, I strongly recommend it. Yay for fun holiday parties!

What an awesome night, dress and post. Funny, just this morning (before reading this post) I mustered the courage to start writing about the time I verbally molested Jake Gyllenhaal and followed him around. Maybe I’ll wait to post it so I don’t seem like a total copycat. Hahahaha.

Body conscious. I will tear off one of those little legs of yours and beat you with it!! I guess if I was a little more body conscious, mine wouldnt look like a well porportioned bowl of cottage cheese. :) You are adorable! That picture of you and Dex is a framer. Really.

  • Comment from Stacie

SOOO JEAL! Isn’t he married to Deb from the show?

JENNIFER CARPENTER. Michael C. Hall’s wife is JENNIFER CARPENTER who plays Deb on Dexter. PLEASE REMEMBER HER NAME EVERYONE because she is SO AWESOME and I want her to have the same amount of fame.

Love them BOTH — such terrific actors. And yay for him to have beaten cancer.

  • Comment from Regina

I love him- he is gorgeous. I am officially jeal. Looks like such a fun night!

  • Comment from Andrea

OK I’m so jealous! I just told Scott we need to move to NY so we can meet famous people. I think I could get over my fear of being around too many people all the time if I got to meet Dexter. We are OBSESSED with that show. We don’t even watch it during the regular season because it’s too hard to only watch one episode a week. So we have to wait and then watch them all at once! Anywho, awesome dress and skinny legs :)

  • Comment from Jen Bennion

Collin and I are so jealous you got to meet Michael C. Hall. So exciting! What a great picture. He’s shorter then I thought….anyway, looks like it was a great night.

  • Comment from Jen

I love all of these pictures.. all of them!
And yay it was a fun party night!

And Jen who commented above me, I can say that Reagan was pretty tall that night with, like, 4″ heels on – so I bet he’d look taller if she was just regular 5’8″

    :)

  • Comment from Stephanie

Love, love, love Dexter! So glad you had such a nice time.

And p.s. – Your legs don’t look like tree trunks!

  • Comment from Sara

LOVE it all, Reags. I am super duper uper jeal.

We’re getting a new pug puppy next week and his name is…Dexter! The breeder asked, “you mean like the murderer?” and I was all, “well, kind of…I mean, you really like him, you don’t want him to get caught, he his awesome, I love him, so….yes, we are naming him Dexter. After the murderer.”

I am sure that you telling him about Pip was nowhere near as awkward as I would have been going on and on about how I named my dog after his character.

  • Comment from Leah

Yup, jeal over here too. The prettiness of this picture made my day yesterday–and then when I went to research his wife (Jennifer Carpenter as noted above), my world was ROCKED TO ITS CORE to find out he is married to Deb. I mean Jennifer. How can Dexter be married to Deb??? WEIRD.
Still love the show, though. And your lovely posts!

  • Comment from Mari

    1. You look fabulous in the outfit!!! I would never never ever accuse you of or assum you had tree trunks for legs, or cankles–just not a Reagan thing to have :)

    2. I LOVE Dexter. Did I tell you that I love Dexter? Can how I tell you how I fell in love with Dexter? My husband has cancer and he had just begun chemotherapy, every Friday. Every Friday we arrived at thre hospital at 7:15am, where Phil was given his own room because he was so sick from the chemo, and we stayed for 14 hours of chemo. Every Friday. By Sunday night I was beyond weary and read for a glass of wine and a date with a serial killer. (When I was in college and grad school I worked for a professor studying serial killers and was able to travel around with him and meet a few of them–not a highlight of my life, but certainly interesting.)

Have I missed my chance to buy the boots? Now I can’t find the site.

Oh. My. Jeal!!! I looooooooooove Dexter! Love him. Sunday night is my fav night & this season is serious fabu – Lumen adds a whole deeper level to his character. Very cool you were an extra in the same film as Jennifer Carpenter! I’m definitely glad there are fun things in life to help us get through the hard things…like missing your sweet PiperJane when you’re away from her. Thanks for sharing your fun with us!

  • Comment from Monique

ok….that’s enough of Mk’s mug on you blog. I was jealous 5 days ago and i still am. need some piper pics or jake pics.

  • Great pic of you and Dexter! I’m jeal of you living in New York!

  • Comment from Kate

Hey! I heard on the radio yesterday that the DJs from 95.5 are going to Blythedale next week with a bunch of bands/singers. I immediately thought of you, Jake & Pip! Rock on! Can’t wait to read a blob about that one!

  • Comment from Heidi

He’s married to the lady who plays his sister? Crazy! I love Deb (& Dexter), but wth is going on with her hair in the later seasons? It’s like they made her chop it off and then just gave up on it. It drives me cray-cray when shows/movies let their actors run around with bad hair. You know they can do better!

  • Comment from Mary T.

Well, poo — they just announced today that MC Hall and Jennifer Carpenter are splitting up! I don’t know…should we blame you, Reagan? (THAT’s A JOKE BASED ON YOUR EXTREME BEAUTY)

  • Comment from Christina

Super jealous! Love love the dress, you look so pretty. Wanted to know how you do your make-up. Looking for new ways to amp up Holiday style. I really like the way you do your eyeliner.

  • Comment from Ashley

Did anyone ask what color your lip stick is and I missed it? Its fantastic and I want some for myself.

  • Comment from Keriann

My husband is a huge Dexter fan and tried to get me to watch it, but I am too squeamish, and after the first blood spatter, I had to run and hide! Maybe I’ll have to give it another try. By the way, what is the name of the film you extra’d in? I will be first in line to see it!
