Piper Jane takes steps.

I have so many things to write about my visit with Pippy today. I missed her so much while we were in Virginia, and her welcoming me back with smiles and snuggles makes me never want to leave her again. So I’ll be sad when I leave her tomorrow already. Deep cranky sigh.

Happy stuff:
Piper Jane took two steps on her own today. One big step, and one little skip shuffle. Are you screaming? I would be, but I’m alone. And that’s weird. Anyway, Dawn (you guys know Dawn), and I do this thing where we stand a few feet apart and send Pipsey back and forth, hoping she’ll let go of our hands and take some independent steps. She’s been close for months, but will not do it. So, today she did! Dawn weaseled her hands out of Pip’s grasp and Pip didn’t notice until it was too late and she had stepped on her own. Into my arms where I spent the next 5 minutes squeezing her to pieces with pride. Piper Jane: Walking Girl.

Happy Stuff part two:
Look how clear Piper’s face is! She has the most sensitive skin in the world, and always has some kind of redness or rash. She is on a respiratory medication that has a lovely side effect of clearing up any rashes, and look at my beautiful girl! It was so nice to see her clear, pretty cheeks! And even more, it was so nice to not see her annoyed and scratching it the whole visit.

Happy Stuff Cont’d:
I couldn’t stop kissing those clear cheeks.

HS:
The smiles and giggles never ended.

Happystuffgrandfinale:
Piper Jane has made her own little chair out of this red ball. She sits in it an reads her tiny Mickey Mouse books. her version of a newspaper…Like a little old man.

The quality of the big camera is obviously a world better than my iphone, but my little phone captures such sweet moments. Dawn and I tried to recreate the steps for about a half an hour, and instead I just spent a half an hour videoing Piper Jane goofing off. It’s really just as special. I take my phone everywhere I go, and I end up getting a little dose of my Piper Jane when I am needing it real bad.

I’m going to Utah tomorrow. I am flying with a buddy pass, so since I’m doing standby, I had to take the most empty flight of the week or else I probably wouldn’t have ever gotten out of town. Finger’s crossed it all works out. I’m getting so excited to see my family. I’ll be there to meet my mom’s new puppy, and celebrate my dad’s birthday on Thursday. And even though I’ll miss that Pip of a squeak, it will be so nice to take some time off from work.

Oh yeah, I’d love to cut all of your hairs! Maybe not this time though, because I haven’t made any arrangements for it. I wouldn’t know where to do the cutting and it’s all quite short notice. Maybe next trip out! Thank you so much for asking! How fun to meet a few of you!

Last but not least, I do have a job lined up. I’m really excited to start there after my little break. I’ll also be taking a trip to Michigan to see my friend and her new baby a little later this month, and then I’ll be starting work again in February. More on that later! I’d say sorry to shock you in the last post with a bomb like “I quit my job”, but I did it on purpose. Shocking people is fun. I’m probably the only person who would admit that, so stay with me for my honesty.

That’s all! Good post right? Who doesn’t love some Piper sunshine in the middle of January?
