We ran a 10K in Central Park even though we (Jake and I) weren’t really trained. I wasn’t proud of my time but then I remembered I didn’t deserve to be. Maybe I can find some motivation somewhere? The race was painful but in a good way. I love to run. I even love those hills at the north end of the park. Especially when they’re over. Joe and Jen (and 9,000 other runners) were there too for the packed course.

I wore tube socks and they stayed up the whole time. While I was running I kept thinking about how much I was enjoying my tube socks.
On Saturday I got Gelato because it was warm enough and also because I think about sugar all the time. Maple gingersnap, yum.
The best time of the year is when you can wear tights and a jacket if you want, but you also can skip them if you want.
We also filmed two tutorials, talked about life, watched “Youth In Revolt”, counted how many times our neighbor slammed their door, found a huge scratch in our car that the guys from the parking garage are to blame for, picked up my passport (now I can finally travel under Breinholt) from Fedex, and had lots of discussions about how we can spend more time together. It might look like we are together all of the time, but Jake and I are really busy and often have a lot of projects that we are working on separately. I’m so excited for our vacation next month and to spend time with Jake alone. I need it and I think Jake does too.
Peace out.

Goooooooooooo tube socks!!! The only thing better would be wearing your tube socks whilst on vacation!
Love your tube socks!! You always inspire me with fashion style.
Enjoy planning your vacation to France. My boys were both exchange students to France their junior year of HS, so we have traveled there a lot. My mom is also French and we’ve traveled with her there too. You’ll love it. Be sure to take scarfs and wear one everyday and you will blend right in

sweet tube socks. I can’t wait to see you Friday!
Mmmm gelato….delish….my fave is mango or raspberry…..yummers! Love the tube socks too and the fact that you just went for it with the race! Why the hellls not!?! It’s fun to take risks/challenges you’re not prepared for….keeps you humble I say
Also – happy for you guys that you’re getting some away time soon. It’s SO important as a couple, and Mr. Beard and I can certainly relate…..passing ships – it ain’t fun!
xo
I always loved running in tube socks…
I hate those damn hills at the north end! Once I decided to go for a cruise (ride my cruiser) around the loop. (Big mistake, stick to the WSH Rae.) I totally got heckled by a fat kid when I had to get off my bike and push it up the hill. Embarrassing, but I felt like telling that kid maybe he should spend more time biking those hills and less time heckling.
i dont think i could ever look as cute as you running a 10K…plus, I could never run a 10K =)
I look forward to seeing pics of your European adventure next month. I will totally be living vicariously through your blog updates and pictures, imagining that my husband and I are the ones vacationing there.=) But, seriously, you guys totally deserve it. We know the toll that your circumstances can take on oneself in addition to your marriage. I pray for total relaxation, rejuvenation, and fun for you both.
It will be comforting knowing Piper is in the care of the same people who know her and who you guys trust. Even though I’m sure it will hurt your mama heart to be so far from her, it will definitely provide some peace of mind knowing she’s in good hands. Only if we didn’t live across the country from you guys, I would go visit her with Miss M. Maybe one day they will meet, but in the meantime, we enjoy keeping tabs through the blob.
xo,
Victoria
I’m in love with those socks! I haven’t ran a 10k in awhile but the next time I do I’m going to buy some new socks! I think your trip sounds awesome. I can’t wait to see pics and hear about it!
I’m curious – you seem to have something clipped on your running shoes, what is it? mini-GPS? tiny ipod? shoes-air conditionning device??
