I found these photos the other day and realized it’s a wonder I graduated from beauty school with all the sill’s (sillies) I had. I had to scan them in to share.
Below, I’m in the industrial dryer (and it’s on!) tumbling around while my fellow classmates laugh and take pictures. I was probably in there for about 10-20 seconds, but it really did spin all the way around and I landed on my head about 4 times before I discovered I could put my hands above my head to protect myself. Anyway, I love this picture. I was 18 and didn’t have a care in the world.
This one is of me and Lacy. We would zip up our smocks and walk around with our mannequin heads sticking out the top like this. We couldn’t see anything, so we would bump into people and walls. Sometimes we would waltz together (below). We were hilarious, but mostly obnoxious.
Beauty school was so fun. We were always getting into trouble. Now I know where Pippy gets it!
(pssst she gets it from me)

those shoes are hilarious…
THE SHOES! oh, so funny.
Alright, I will be the third one to comment on the sandals because we all know we wore them and thought they were the coolest thing since sliced bread! The drying picture is also my fave pic, just too funny. I think that’s my favorite thing about your Reag, your ability to just have fun anywhere you are.
That’s so funny – I too was about to comment on the platform flip flop craze of the early oo’s. What was wrong with us!? Glad you were smart enough not to take those beauties in the dryer with you.
Hooray for fun times!
Too funny! Love the jean skirt and wedge flops going on. Fun to look back on old styles from the past.
the platform sandles!!!!! hahah i remember those day
I am a fellow goofy silly, so I enjoy seeing all evidence of your being the same! Fun trip down memory lane.
I got on to comment on the shoes as well and then saw everyone else had haha!! Love it!
Fun! I loved my white platform flip flops! Did you go to Evan’s Hair School? It looks familiar. I went to SUU and had a roomate at Evan’s. P.S. I’m moving to Westbury on Long Island at the end of the month do you have any must see places close by?
Ok I’m glad everyone else is commenting on the shoes. Flashback city! Everyone had those!
hehe also a fellow silly here too =)
good times.
I’m diggin’ those platform flip flops…. Wow I remember when I used to wear those “back in the day”.
P.S. The nanny in me went “Oh my gosh, how DANGEROUS!” when I read that the dryer was spinning. Apprently, I am no fun. Though I know for a fact I would have likely peed my pants laughing had I been there to see this (these) events 1) because I know how silly and fun you are and 2) because it shows how silly and fun it was!
AAAAAAAAAAH the platform flipflops!! i totally had a pair of those!
The platform flip flops and knee-length blue jean skirts are going to be our generation’s version of the Madonna gloves and acid washed jeans and shoulder pads our moms wore.
That’s so funny–I think we had those same smocks at our beauty school..except we had to wear navy scrubs underneath…gag
FREAKING LOVE THIS!!!! Seriously, it reminds me of my good old days of no worries.
That mannequin head picture is killing me! Too funny! The platform flip-flops are crazy – I think I was too old to get in on that fad but I subjected myself to many others. I wish the mannequin head thing would become a fad! Too much fun!!!
I can’t stop laughing….the shoes, the dryer, those heads!! You are so funny Reagan!
The hunchback mannequin head pic is killing me!!! You had WAY more fun in beauty school than I did
So I just discovered your blog and now officially have a huge crush on it. And I was also in need of it too; I love the attitude you have and the gorgeous energy surrounding you and your family. What a sweet child that Pippy is. I also wanted to say (and this really is a comment to an earlier post) in all randomness that my newly minted daughter is named Maya and up until a few hours after her birth she was Sophie. So it was weird and wonderful to see your nieces are a Maya and a Sophie, a little bit of both. (My husband let me rename our daughter after watching labor. He said I’d earned it. Though I think his “downward facing duck” yoga pose to entertain me was a close second.) Sending you + Piper lotsa love!
I love the smocks! My smock started to stink and was so stained by the time I got done with school. Like everyone else I love the sandals, I thought I would never be able to live without platform sandals haha!
I guess I’m the only one who still thinks platforms are awesome.
Maybe I just want to be taller.
Fun pictures.
I’ve never gotten in a dyer myself, but my sister has and that picture definitely killed me! You almost look exactly like her!! hahahaha Also, the shoes are hilarious, but I love the long denim skirts too. I absolutely LOVE looking through old pictures!
Um shoes are sweet yes, but I am shocked that no one is commenting about the heads coming out of our smocks? Ha ha I have been laughing for the last 20 min, I wondered where these pictures were! Ps I love how your head..? Obviously the man … Is leaning down for the kill!!
