Dearest Weekend, it took you long enough.

This work week has crawled!

I am so anxious for this weekend, even though I’m working so much of it. The film I’m hair-ing for on Sunday is wrapping at 2am!

But, I’m still excited for tomorrow, because Piper Jane and I really need each other. I’m planning on booking it up to B-dale as soon as Jake finishes his half marathon in the morning. Lucky for him he runs fast, otherwise I might leave him behind.

Anyway, I plan on getting to know the yellow unit a little better this weekend. Hopefully a little walk and some regular activities will have Pipsey feeling more at home. Thanks for the tip of swapping out her toys. What a great idea!

I’m also having a movie night with some girlfriends tomorrow night, hooray. I am really excited about it. We’ll probably be seeing something very pointless and very funny.

Also I want to make something pumpkin-y. But the problem there, is that Jake doesn’t like pumpkin, so I have to do some major recipe half-ing, or else eat everything by myself.

Did you know a dentist told me it’s better for your teeth to eat all the sweets in one sitting, rather than eat the same amount slowly throughout the day? I have taken this advice very seriously.

Don’t you guys love Piper Jane’s little Pooh Bear and wingless Tinkerbell “date” above? She doesn’t like Tinkerbell to be wearing her wings or dress ever. And since little figurines are her favorite toys, she prefers to be holding two in each hand. I adore that munchkin.

HAHA! I think Pooh Bear is probably the ENVY of the toy world right now!

Have a great visit with your Pip.

  • Haha…what do you think Pooh/Tink’s kids will look like…? ;) I found a recipe on Pinterest for mini-pumpkin pies made in muffin tins. Maybe you could try that…save a few for later or share some with friends….? Let us know what you make! I am in a pumpkin-y mood as well! Have a great weekend!

I used to be like Jake and not like pumpkin. At all. Then my mom started making this pumpkin dessert that really has no name, but it’s like a pumpkin cake. And it is freaking GOOD. And it slowly transitioned me into loving pumpkin. I will send you the recipe. It’s loaded with sugar and fattening things but so freaking delish. I’m making some this weekend.
Speaking of eating for one (which I do all the time living alone) I was at Food Emporium last weekend and they seld pies by the halfsies! I was stoked until I realized they didn’t have any pumpkin. I just can’t justify buying a whole freaking pumpkin pie for just me so I’ll be going back hoping they get the pumpkin in stock. :)

I don’t like Pumpkin either, but then I made Paula Deen’s Gooey Pumpkin Butter cake, and it was amazing. And my whole family who doesn’t like pumpkin loves it too. So try that and maybe Jake will like it? It’s subtle but delish. Also, I’m just now catching up on the last few days posts. I’m sorry Pip is sad in the Yellow room. I hope and believe that things will look up. I know her life is difficult, but she inspires so many people through your blog. Also, sometimes those with the most difficulties are the most special people. I remember reading some inspirational story about how God tempers us with heat just like the silversmith does to silver. Here is an example I found:

There are times when we must be put into the fire of trials to
burn away the dross. Malachi 3:3 says: “And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.” The silversmith turns up the heat, and the silver turns to liquid. The silver goes to the bottom as the impurities rise to the top and with a skimmer the silversmith skims off the dross. He continues to regulate the heat, not to ruin the silver, but to make it purer.

Anyway, I hope you don’t think that’s too cheesy. There is honest love in my heart for you guys.

For a chic flick I recommend “Something Borrowed”.

For pumpkin receipes I recommend a Pumpkin Roll. They don’t taste like Pumpkin really and they are extremly good. They have cream cheese frosting in the middle :) http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/libbys-pumpkin-roll-with-cream-cheese-filling/detail.aspx

Yay for pumpkin recipes! That is the perfect task for the first weekend in October.
Love Pip’s Pooh/Tink date. Look at Pooh’s big smile as he embraces Tink’s bossoms (or lack thereof;). Ha! And Tink is all “Oh no you di-unt!”

Reagan, I have an awesome recipe for pumpkin cookies. I eat sooo many of them in one sitting. My fiance doesn’t like pumpkin, but he loves these; can’t keep his hands off of them. They’ve been a huge hit among all the friends. If you want the recipe, let me know. :)

  • This will rock your world (not Jake’s unfortunately):

    Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

    Blend:
    4 eggs
    3 cups sugar
    2 cups pumpkin
    1 cup oil
    2/3 cup water
Sift together and then add to mixture:
    3½ cups flour
    1 T baking soda
    1 1/4 t. Salt
    1 t cinnamon

    Stir in:
    ½ bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
½ bag mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

Bake at 325 degrees (this recipe makes 7 small loaf pans) for 45-50 minutes.

I think everybody above that mentioned a recipe should post said recipe because I LOVE pumpkin!

Big hugs to Pip. I am sad too because I lost my big sis to cancer last week. Just can’t stop crying. And my sister loved fairies too so my and my lil sis are getting fairy tatoos in her honor. Only mine will have wings AND clothes!

That precious little hand holding her favorite little friends made my whole entire day. I have a million ideas and suggestions for making the yellow submarine a better, happier place for Pipalicious…so so tired to night. Truth be told the thing that makes Pip Pip Hooray happiest is on it’s way, her mama and papa. Enjoy her Reagen. Squeeze her extra tight from her friend from Seattle! Have a great weekend.

Oh, I hope Super Reagan arrives in the yellow unit complete with cape and sparkling smile and shows ‘em how it’s done! :D I am so glad you are feeling more positive, and I am looking forward to a report of how things went. I hope they go absolutely superdiduperly!

Good luck finding a Jake-friendly pumpkin recipe, and have fuuuun with your friends on movie night. Be sure to tell them the tip about eating all your sweets in one sitting. Oh, and be sure you have a big bowlful of sweets right there in front of you so you all can follow that advice right then and there. : )

I hope the hospital move gets easier! If this helps any…I teach elementary school, and at the beginning of each year I am BUMMED because I miss all of my kiddos from last year!! But, after a couple of weeks, I am so attached to my new ones, that I have forgotten all of my blues. Change is hard, but usually gets easier! Good Luck!

    Dear Reagan,

I have tuned in from time to time to little posts on Glimpses of Heaven and then I googled Beth Breinholt to get the right spelling… and the NY Breinholts came up and I did some reading and looking there… and then I clicked over here. What a darling daughter you have. I am touched by her sweetness. I am touched by the love I see in your eyes as you watch her… I can only imagine your pain when you can see that she is unhappy with her circumstance.

    I am inspired by YOU!!!

These are amazing!!! I make them for friends, family & neighbors around Thanksgiving. People always look forward to them and they are easy to make. I add walnuts in a few, and decorate the tops with cranberries & walnuts. :)

    Fresh cranberries all the way!

We have that same Tink at our house. I couldn’t believe that the shoes and wings were removable- we have a two year old and that was never going to work so I glued them on. The shoes were fine but apparently Harper doesn’t like her Tink to have wings, either. She tore them off. Silly little girls.
