Pip loves her new bed.

First up, Piper’s new bed is called a Soma Bed. I hope those of you who asked are able to find one easily!

Piper Jane loves her bed. Thanks to Jake being so tall, and Pippy always wanting to sit on his shoulders, she has figured out that she wants to sit on top of her bed. All the time. She is slightly uneasy and antsy when she isn’t up there….plotting, waiting for the right moment to get up there again. It can get awkward at times. It’s like, we’re playing, laughing, hugging, and she’s faking it all along….getting in some q.t. for a few minutes to please her parents because she knows we’re the only way up there. But actually that might not be true because I still haven’t shown you the reason she had to get this new bed.

I was able to distract her long enough for her to fall asleep inside her bed instead of one top of it. That is what I call a great motherhood achievement.

In other news.

~Pipster the hipster moved units. She’s been in the babies unit for 2 years too long. They’ve let her stay because she is so small. But suddenly they’ve gotten lots of new babies and had to make room for them. I guess I just feel pretty lucky we got to stay as long as we did.

~It is sooooo humid in NYC right now. If you are from New Jersey or Long Island, you would probably say Yoo-mid instead of humid. The H is silent.

~Yesterday I was dressed like a rag doll at work. I was wearing an old dress that I found at a thrift store. All day people kept saying I looked like a rag doll and I beamed.

~My big shoot with Aussie is this weekend. I am going to be crazy preparing for it, but I am so excited!

~I booked a flight on Wednesday to go to LONDON next month! I’m going with a friend for 5 days. What should I do while I’m there? What’s Londy-pants like in October? I’m going to pack some wellies and a mac and some fags. Brilliant! Where do Morrissey and Lily Allen and Kate Moss live?

~I saw The Mountaintop on Wednesday. It is a new play on Broadway. It only has two characters in the whole show, but the characters are Angela Bassett and Samuel L. Jackson! Those two are no joke! Pretty inspiring to see two people who are so good at what they do.

~I worked out soooo good and soooo hard and ate soooo healthy for like two weeks. I was feeling AWESOME! Then I got a cold and stopped working out and then I started eating bad and now I’m feeling crappy again.

~I got my hair cut last week. Just a trimmy-trim.

~I got my hair colored on Wednesday! Lighter on the roots but the same peachy color all over.

~My new favorite app is called 7 little words.

~I’ve been coloring again and I don’t know why coloring is just for kids. It is pure therapy.

~When Snooki’s boyfriend left her in Italy, it actually broke my heart for her. I hope that they don’t get back together.

~What am I going to be for Halloween? More importantly, what is Piper Jane going to be?

~I’m so excited for London and I can’t believe I have to wait a whole month!

And just in case you were wondering what crazy **** my monkey-human-child was up to that pushed the new bed issue, this is it. She was climbing up and sitting on the side of the crib like a monkey in a tree. She was probably trying to get on top of the bed.

Hi Reagan! I recently saw this adorable costume on alitttlebitfunky.com

    http://www.littlebitfunky.com/2011/09/busy-ness.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+alittlebitfunky+%28Little+Bit+Funky%29

Crystal is a blogger and has a shop on Etsy. if you scroll down a few photos you will see her son in a Yoda costume. it is basically a robe with a green hat with yoda ears. I think she could/would/did the same with a princess layah(sp) hat? Little coils on the sides for hair braids? Anywhoo, she is taking custom orders for a little while. She is amazing at what she can create. trust me in this. and really reasonable prices too.

    have a great w/e!

Piper has major monkey skills, for real! Good luck with your Aussie photo shoot!

Ha! Yumid. So true. And it definitely has been insanely yumid up in here. This morning when I was deciding on my hair style I checked weather.com and it said 95% yumidity. Obviously I went the curly route.
My favorite thing I did in London was the audio tour of Westminster Abbey. One of the rooms was so beautiful I almost cried. I hear the Abbey is closed like every other day for holidays and events and whatnot, so try your hardest to go inside because after having seen it, I would have been devastated to not have been able to go in. I did a lot of the audio tours in London and Paris and this one was hands down the best.
    Have fun!!!!
PS That last pic of Pip is hilar!

Piper is such a cute little monkey!
And an Aussie shoot?! That’s so awesome! I’m sure it will be fabulous!
And I love that you watch Jersey Shore. It definitely sucked when Snooki’s boyfriend left, but I follow her on twitter… they’re together.

  • oh, have fun in london!

check out brick lane and spitalfield markets… these are awesome places.

    :) nic

You have to go to Camden market….so crazy with tons of shops and stalls with people selling stuff…all kinds, I mean all kinds of people there. And go hungry….food stalls are everywhere! You can get Jamaican, Indian, Polish, Chinese (and it’s all very cheap). We went last March and are going again because it was such a great trip.

Big Bus tours make it a great way to get around London, and they have stops along the ways so you can get off and enjoy a site and then get back on another bus and continue the tour. It takes you all around London, and there is either a guide or recorded audio to listen to.

Harrods is spectacular to visit (a bit expensive though)!

    Enjoy!

Camden Market on a weekend, if you can make it. I think you will love it!

If you want some lovely vintage clothes head to portobello road or the brick lane area. It’s pretty hectic but also a lot of fun!
I love the Victoria and Albert museum.
Go for a stroll along the South Bank. It’s lovely at dusk on a clear night.
Fags? I didn’t know you smoked!

PS. The thing you’ll love about London is you can wear WHATEVER you like and nobody will bat an eyelid. Go for the ragdoll look!

In London I love Gabriel’s Wharf. Nice little artsy craftsy shops and beautiful view of the Thames. Btw I’m off to London in a month, too! Maybe I’ll spot you there!

She is moving up in the world!

Not sure if this is an appropriate question or if you feel comfortable talking about it, are you still hoping to move to the other center…I can’t remember the name, it was the one currently in the process of being built?

    Yoo-mid. Ha! I can hear it now…

Pipster in your lap chilling with the iPad? Possibly my fave ever.

I kid you not- and I have a piece of paper to prove it- I saw a little girl and her Mom coloring on my flight back to Columbus on Monday. I took a piece of paper out, wrote TO-DO on the top and first wrote: buy coloring books and crayons. It is so therapeutic.

Oh you are coming to my city – how exciting. And funny as I am going to New York next year and was thinking of booking in with you for a haircut!
I think you would really love this market – one of the coolest funkiest in London. Get there before 10am on a Sat
    http://www.broadwaymarket.co.uk/
You want to hang out where Kate Moss and her cronies do, head to Primrose Hill and the park. Also visit Regents Park it is lovely. Rumour has it we are having snow in October – but 80 degrees next week. so chk the forecast before you come. If you like concerts try and go to the Royal Albert hall – it is stunning. Tate Modern, Borough market, St Paul’s Cathedral. Camden is good but very busy and touristy – avoid on a weekend! Southbank is lovely. Go and see the globe and the tower of London for history’s sake. And reckon you would also like Portobello Road market. I wish I actually knew you personally so i could show you around! Restaurants: Busaba Eathai (Thai chain), The Table in Southwark, L’aventure in St John’s Wood http://www.laventure.co.uk/

    Have a fabulous time!!!!

Is it so har-ible if its yumid out? At least you can open the windows and you don’t need your Rad-iator on.
Am I right? I mean, especially if your window is yuge or even enormous. You know what I mean?

What to do in London? Everything! A bus tour is gerat – try to get one that has a section on a river boat too. Shops – Covent Garden (Lily Allen did have a shop there called Lucy in Disguise – but I think it may have closed) – Liberty on Regent Street.

When are you in London? – half term school holiday is 22nd-30th October (for most schools – some will be the week earlier) – so museums etc will be much busier that week.

  • Comment from Nikki

Lucy in Disguise is in Carnaby Street :)

If it’s a clear day, go on the London Eye, you can see right across the city :) Selfridges on Oxford Street is fun for looking at crazy high end designer stuff, as is Harrodsburg. For cute vintage, there are several branches of Beyond Retro around, they’re cute :)

The Victoria and Albert museum is an amazing design museum as well, with some awesome clothes in :)

If you do go to Camden Market, there’s an incredible cocktailbar call Bar55 there, please, for the love of all that is holy, make a trip there. I adore it.

Let me know if you want any more tips, or if you want a guide at all! I’ve lived here for tears, and love it here :D

Let me know if you’d like any more tips, or if you

The London Eye is great if the day is clear. I love the Tate Modern-the cafe there is fab-and like others have said Camden Market on a weekend is a must.

So funny, I started coloring again too! It’s total therapy!

That funny Pippity! Oh, I hope it is not too difficult on you and her that she was moved to a new unit. Looking forward to hearing about the Aussie shoot! And do we get to see you in your rag doll dress? : )

Oh my goodness, that picture of Pip being a monkey made my day… no, my week!! She is so funny!

Reagan, I love your blog and I love reading about all of your adventures and about your little Pip. It is real and funny and a joy to always come here for some sunshine :) Just keep being you! Thank you <3

  • Comment from Sarah Palma

Reag! It broke my heart when Snookie’s bf left her in Italy too:( I almost started crying, and then I realized I’d have serious issues if I did. I felt so bad, and he was so mean. Sure she was acted kinda skanky, but who did he think he was dating?

Anyway, can you please do me a favor in London? Can you please go see Jane Austen’s grave for me and take a pic-y pic? Please, Bun?! Say you will!

  • Comment from Lorna

Lily Allen’s shop moved from Covent Garden and it’s now on Lexington Street (off the back of Oxford Street). It’s cute, but she probably won’t be there – she lives in the country now, but still owns a flat on the other side of Oxford Street – I see her about once a month as my office is nearby!!

Primrose Hill is where Kate Moss etc hangs out…

Borough Market (near London Bridge) is cool for lunch and doing some food shopping – it’s great for browsing!

Personally I don’t get the “Camden” appeal, but totally go to Portobello road etc for the markets, lots of (expensive) vintage!

the V&A museum is awesome – try going to Bumpkin nearby for lunch if you head that way, definately try and make it to Greenwich too to go see the pretty buildings there and the cute market – get a boat down the river to get there.

the East End (Shoreditch/Spitalfields) is good for going out/drinks.

If you want to get in touch for more advice, just drop me an email! I love your blog and the awesome Piper, and I’d be happy to give you more recommendations depending on what you want to do while you’re here.

WEather wise, I’ve heard predictions of Snow and a heatwave for October… so your guess is as good as mine! Layering is probably the best bet, and some stuff in case of rain!

I posted this morning how on Friday night, my husband got hooked on 7 Little Words. I downloaded it last week and didn’t even get to play it because my hubs is taking up all the iPod time. I hear it’s fun. Maybe someday I’ll get to play it ;)

Have fun in merry old London. I’ve never been. I think I’d like to go too, though.

Pip cracks me up. She’s probably playing Pip of the Jungle perched up there so high. If she ever gets her hands on any swinging vines, you better look out, mama!

  • Comment from Di

She needs a little leotard, and gym slippers. To go with the climbing thing. Seriously though, the high level of activity and mobility has to be good for her musculoskeletal development, and her lungs. I remember as a kid loving “the air up there”, usually perched on top of the chook house, or in the trees. It’s a whole different perspective.

  • Comment from Gita

Hey, I’m going to London in a month for five days! Maybe I’ll see you there!
    Your faithful reader from Lithuania

  • Comment from Helen

Really interesting to see what other people recommend about my home town! Definitely do the Eye – great on a clear day, twilight is good too as all the lights are beautiful. Like the other commenter I don’t get the appeal of Camden either, but I do love Covent Garden and Borough Market. Selfridges yes – Harrods no. Bus tour yes, but river boat tour too. St Pauls is better than Westminster (in my opinion), but sometimes the outdoors stuff is better (if the weather is up to it). Go to Hyde park and boat on the Serpentine, lovely jogging trail there too and in the early morning the horses will be being exercised there. You can rollerblade there too. If you want to go to Camden you can get a little water taxi from there to Little Venice via the zoo. Sure beats the tube! Apologies in advance for the litter and the smell of the tube, your metro was much nicer, less packed and cleaner than the tube. Enjoy your trip. If you get stuck/lost/arrested call me!

Hi, I’m catching up on posts and I thought I would throw in my two cents!I love London, but I’ve only been there once, my trip took place in March, and it was freezing! Anyway.
*One of my favorite things to to was going to St. Paul’s and climbing to the very top. Great view, fun stair workout:) And they have a cute cafe and restaurant in the basement if you are starving and want an easy option.
    *Tate modern- love this museum!
*Victoria and Albert museum- amazing, lots to see, be aware lots of museums and places close early, like 4PM, I was surprised by this. There are lots of great museums and they are free!
    *London eye
*Go to Windsor to tour the castle, and shop
    *walk across the tower bridge
*Greenwich area- cute market, the observatory, prime meridian and all that
Have fun! I wish I was going on a trip.
Contrary to what the above commenter from London said- I was very impressed with the tube, it’s overall smell and cleanliness. I have visited NY many times, and I think the subway is much dirtier and smellier! LOL.
