Hairdresser at Tiffany’s.
For about a year I’ve wanted to update Hairdresser on Fire. I have had this vision of black and white photos in the header and having really dramatic lighting. I don’t know what took so long, but we finally shot a bunch of images for it on Monday night. It will probably be a few weeks still before the new look is up, because we are both so busy, but I’m so excited. I love taking photos with Jake. It always goes the same way…in the beginning I’m not really feeling it..I get impatient and have to be talked into continuing. Then we get a good flow and start having a good time. Then neither of us want to stop and we are literally looking around the room and brainstorming for new ideas so we can keep going. The above pictures wont be in the header, but it was one of those last minute ideas Jake had. “Use your comb like Holly Golightly’s cigarette! Put on sunglasses!”.
It’s funny, I know Jake and I both have our “real” jobs away from each other, but we still work together a lot and I definitely consider us business partners as well as in love partners. I never really imagined working together, and it’s cool/funny to look back and see how it has slowly, naturally fallen into place this way.
It’s better than mangoes.
To be really honest, I’d much rather see pictures and hear stories about Piper Jane. I don’t give a rat’s behind about your latest outfit or what your hair looks like, but that darling Pip is WAY more interesting. Seriously, don’t cut down on your posts about her. Try cutting out the garbage like the newest style of tights you have. Thanks and sorry for being so blunt.

Wow Margaret, don’t hold back now. My goodness! Dawn is right, this is YOUR blob, and I personally LOVE to read about everything that you post….even the things that make you say “eww”. Haha!

Hi Margaret. I know piper is great, but it’s reasons like your comment that have made me cut down on piper posts. People who dont really know us write creepy emails and comments like yours. I know piper Jane is way more popular of a topic, but I’m jot here to pimp out my pip. Go find another child to stalk. Sorry for being so blunt.

Holy buckets Margaret you are rude! Piper is so dang cute and all, but I love reading about Reagan and her awesome style just as much. No one is forcing you the read this blog.
Reagan & Jake – you are awesome people/parents/everything else. Keep on doing what you are doing, which is being happy. Hopefully Margaret can find some happiness in her own life.

I love how well you and Jake work together in everything. I’m sure between two demanding jobs, the time it takes to get out to Piper (as awesome as it is once you’re there), and simply maintaining a household, it could really strain the two of you. But you seem to make it work really well. I love that about y’all. I love all of your posts, too — could TOTALLY get lost in your other blog! How fun!

Reagan, this is such a cool post! I love hearing about the progress with all your creative work, and the way that you and Jake work together. Kind of a cool “behind the scences” angle! Neat! Can’t wait to see the new look for HDOF with the dramatic black and white too.
I think that having creative projects outside of one’s “regular job” is so meaningful, and it’s awesome that you guys keep at it so constantly. Thanks for including us all in your creativity! With risk of sounding totally cheeseball, it is inspiring and appreciated.

You two are totally a power couple! It makes me really jeal sometimes because I love how you guys bounce creativity off each other. You two always do such great work together and I know if I had a hub that took such great photos I would always be doing little photo shoots. This picture is amazing! I normally don’t like to comment about rude people either, but Margaret come on. Reagan can post as much or as little as she wants about HER child. If you don’t like it, then don’t read it. I personally LOVE the posts about tights. Tights are important! It’s a fun blog about many things and Pip has always been included, I love posts about Pip but if she wants to keep it more private about her family and her little girl, then respect that as a reader.

It’s so funny this post was about HDOF! I knew you were working hard after you talked about the Aussie videos. I checked out HDOF the other night and it looked fabuloso. You might still have a lot you want to do to it, but I was particulary impressed with the comments from grateful readers and other sylists. Nice feedback. What a rude (and creepy?) first comment! I keep coming back to your blog mainly because I love your writing style- conversational, charming, adorbs,and just delightful. It’s fun hearing about your Piper, but she’s YOUR Pip, and (as you’ve said before) your time with her should be just that- time with her. Not time spent hoarding up things to publish on your blog for the world to read. Margaret’s comment was not only rude, it was incredibly selfish.

What is up with that comment. She probably has Piper pics all over her room and wears Pippy pigtails in her spare time. If you are such a fan of Piper then you would know that Reagan posted quite awhile ago that she was not going to be having so many pics and posts about Piper on her blob. Dearest Margaret, As someone who was until recently responsible for the 24/7 care of my mom with Alz’s, and now with the return of my husband’s cancer which includes an inoperable malignant tumor, I know, first hand, how important it is to have a fun outlet in life. You have to be able to let go of reality and have fun. If you don’t do this you are no good to anyone, and in Reagan’s case this would be espcially Piper Jane and Jake. Yes, I love the posts on PJ, and the pictures, but I also love the posts on her hair and her new tights. Reagan reminds me that I too need to let loose of my reality and live. I am forever grateful to Reagan for being who she is and taking me on the fun road with her.
Reagan, You are one of my heros, and I hope you do know how much I admire you on so many levels, for the life you have reminded me to live.
