Happy Valentine’s Day!

Do you celebrate? It’s ok if you don’t.

Now that that’s out of the way (“that” being my above encouragement for all you non celebrators) I’ll fill you in on what we’re doing! Nothing, actually. Valentine’s is at the tail-end of our anniversary/Groundhog’s/my birthday and we are all partied (partied=tired, cold, hungry and broke) out. We never really do much to celebrate Vday, but I like to pretend we do. We hug and say “Happy Valentine’s day, love!”. And then smack each other on the rear and maybe eat something heart shaped…And call it a holiday.

I guess you can say we did more to celebrate this year, because we made tutorial for Hairdresser On Fire yesterday. I was laying in bed like a bump on a log and this Sweetheart Braid just came to me. Like a romantic flash of lightening. Lucky me! I love hair inventions. Or “hairventions”.

No? Sorry.

Anyway, I think this is our cutest video yet! Please go to Hairdresser On Fire to check it out!

Hairray!

*fact: Jake and I shared our first “date”ish on Valentine’s day 7 years ago! We had just met 3 days before and it was mostly a timing thing rather than seeking out a V-tine…but cute! 7 years later and we’re still cute-ing around together!

Oh my hell, you’re the cutest.

Thanks for the cute new heart braid idea! Love it!
I was browsing the Valentine’s aisle at the store last week and saw some napkins that said, “Single’s Awareness Day.” It made me laugh…because my sister has never liked Valentine’s Day.

Happy Valentine’s Day. You, Jake and Piper are great.

You are a WALKING Valentine! So adorable and sweet. I had an Aunt who could expertly braid (I, alas, have always had what I call ‘hot dog fingers’ — meaning big and clumsy). Oh, the times I would squeal into an event – birthday, holiday, wedding – with my daughter, a brush, ribbons and elastics to find my Aunt at the last minute so she could beautifully braid my little girl’s hair!! In our family, hair do’s take a village… Happy Valentine’s Day!!!!

P.S. I remember you saying Jake is a romantic guy. Being romantic without blowing a wad of cash is the sexiest romantic there is. IMHO.

I am oh so envious of your hair!!! What can a middle aged woman with thin straight shoulder length hair do? I love it 1″ all the way around, but DH likes it long–what is it with men and their fantasy long hair? Whenever I am going out I have to go have it styled at the salon so it looks good, but I wand good everyday hair too. I’m whining :)

    I love the tutorial! Adorable!!!
I always wonder if making your tutorials with models (even friends!) are awkward… I know it’s edited and not real time, so it can take awhile. Do you talk to your model? Or do you need her to sit still? I’d be so nervous to be filmed, even just sitting there, wondering do I Look at the camera? Do I avoid the camera? Should I hold a comb? Is my hair cooperating? But I’m neurotic like that.

And I always love the music!

This looks so cute. I wonder what other hairventions are just waiting to spring forth from your creative mind?

    Hi Reagan,
I love your blog and sweet little miss pip. I am going to NYC next weekend and was wondering if you have ever been to the hidden bar called PDT. Is it worth the hype? If yes any hints on getting in? Thanks for letting me know if you have a free second!

That list is awesome. It makes me miss the time when my two nieces thought I was the coolest person alive. I’m way younger than my half brothers and so I had nieces and nephews earlier than most people. When I was in hs and college, my nieces were in middle school and junior high and they loved me and quite nearly worshiped me.

Now they are in college themselves and are cooler/cuter/more hip than I will ever be. : (
