When Jake and I didn’t go to Atlanta for Christmas, I missed my family more than ever. Then I realized that we hadn’t been to Atlanta since December of 2008! So, we went to Atlanta. With it being Presidents’ Day weekend, my sister Erin’s bday it just seemed like a good time! (Spoiler alert, it was. Yay.)
My nieces are awesome and so so smart. We were pretty busy playing and having a blast. I brought them presents because when you’re little, the best part about relatives visiting is getting presents. Even if that’s not true, I’m not going to risk it. I’m campaigning for favorite aunt here.
Meg got busy making a list of things to do while we were in town. It’s a strange but exciting list that deserves to be posted.
Unfortunately, we never got around to #14, but we did do some climbing. Well, they did some climbing, I did some being climbed.

More things that happened…

This is just me stuck in the doggie door. Proof that I’d literally do anything to make my nieces laugh.

Shrimp and grits were consumed.

And we celebrated my sister’s birthday!
It’s hard living away from family. We decided we’re going to go to Atlanta more. It’s so close! I’ll be posting more soon.
Good times.

Family is good stuff. As my name suggests I understand the auntie thing. Suffice it to say I have the favorite aunt title in the bag! Just ask my nephew who I am taking to Paris in April!
stuck in the doggy door…classic!

I heard a funny thing about you (how’s that starting line) – a girl I know went to NY and while there she spotted quite a few celebs….but was most excited about spotting YOU!! Ha ha. Bet you didn’t even know you’d been spotted.
i live far from any of my family or my rocket scientist’s family, so travel is a must. I miss my sisters so much and yet when I fly to see them I always say I’m coming more often as it is not that far. From now on when you book to go visit, I will too

It’s always good to leave a visit with things left to do – like pit digging. From the ‘check’ marks on the list it looks like it was a wildly fun weekend of mad libs, magic tricks and movies among other things. After your harrowing experience with a laundry chute as a child, your willingness to jam yourself into a doggy door is very brave!!!! (parents from South Carolina – OH! need me some good grits)
I can’t believe you didn’t do haircuts and hairdos, either. But that pit-digging… you need to get on that. They are super cute!
I love living in Atlanta! Glad you had a good visit here. From the looks of it you’ll win the Favorite Aunt award, hands down! I’m working on winning it in my family, too.
OH! I miss those two monkeys like crazy! Lauren talks about her cousin friends all the time. I wish we could go out there to visit more often, I love Atlanta. I think I am going to go for 2nd fav aunt status because there is no way in hell I will attempt crawling through the doggie door. You win.
Please tell me you got on the trampoline. Love trampolines! That’s what I haven’t done since 2008 – been on a trampoline. I need to change that here quick.
this is hilarious. I have two sisters and their status as favorite changes by the day. my girls and I are traveling to see one aunt this spring in… nyc!! boy, do we have a list being written…
I LOLed at “Dig a pit.” Hopefully, you can get around to that next time. Love your hair!
