birthday date (i'm milking it)
we started out at the brooklyn flea market. it's the best in nyc.
they have it in this old bank during the cold winter, however, it felt as cold inside as it did outside. we kept our gloves/coats/scarves on.
the building is gorgeous.

sifting through raggedy old coats. i am cool with the overpriced vintage clothes on ebay/etsy, because it is a huge adventure to find something pretty and in good condition.

in the basement vault, there are a bunch of local food vendors. we had gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and soup. i love sandwiches and soup.

i only bought a gift for a friend, but my favorite thing about fleas are just browsing the old stuff. i love to see things that i had growing up. jake and i showed each other rotary phones, pencil sharpeners, chairs, lunchboxes, clothes and dishes the we had in our childhood homes. it's fun to remember.

then we went to the ballet. are you curious why i still don't do my hair even when i'm doing something fancy? it's because i only like doing other people's hair. like my client who plays the flute for the NYC ballet. he got us amazing tickets to sleeping beauty. we were front row so i got to see down in the orchestra pit. it was fun to watch him wail on the flute during his solos. pretty talented...

sleeping beauty was so great! it was pretty cool being so close that we could hear their point shoes shuffling about the stage. during the performance i realized that i weigh more than everyone on the stage. combined. haha.
i guess 26 wont be so bad. i'm looking forward to another great year with my baby and my baby's daddy. hooray!also, i was asked to be the maid of honor at an upcoming (2011)best friend's wedding. i have never been so excited in my whole life. whole. life.

i'm 26 now

we were kind of busy moving piper jane (aka thunder stealer) to blythedale, so we didn't have a lot of time to do much. we wound up watching breakfast at tiffany's in the late afternoon and eating veggie burgers. we'll do the real celebrating tomorrow. if it doesn't snow too much.

i wanted jake to take some pictures of me while i'm still young. it was really a beautiful day yesterday, so we had fun and didn't miss our coats too much for the 10 minute outing.

mother, do you think they'll like this song
also, a special prize goes to whoever knows where that quote comes from. a bigger prize goes to anyone who knows what the title of this post is quoting. HINT: one is from a movie, one is from a song.
*ps to be honest there is probably not a prize

farewell 24
The time you were clumsy and got a new umbrella out of it
The time you got described
The time you got 7 stitches in your face
The time you went to Puerto Rico
The first time you met Kate
The time you became the mother of a one year old
The time you saw a million mermaids (and their boobies)
The time you met Farmer Ted
The time you met your twin (and Piper's twin)
The time you ran the High Heelathon on Regis and Kelly
The day Piper smiled
The time your child flipped you the bird
The time we went to Philadelphia
The time you saw Weezer with Jake
The time you went to Hartford
The time your daughter was a goddess
The time you danced to ABBA
The time you got bangs
It all (and much more) happened at 24, I'm sure 25 will be just as amazing!
another birthday.

Jesse's Birthday!!!
So Elder Baker, have fun in Mexico....changing lives and being warm and eating burritoes and getting into heaven!
This is a random picture I found on my phone of Jesse holding our niece, Kate last summer. His taking a picture of himself with a phone skills are also braggable.
One more story about Jesse. When he was like 6, Nathan pinned him down in our front yard in TN, got him naked, threw his panties in a tree and locked him out of the house. He was jumping to grab his unders with one hand (the other trying to keep himself covered) then he gave up and tried with both hands. Then he decided to climb the tree and after about two whole minutes we realized we were being evil gentiles and let him in the house. I blame my mom. She homeschooled us, but left us alone all day with our mean imaginations. I don't feel bad posting this story because I was the youngest for five years before Jesse came along, so I know what it's like.

Fat daddy
It's my dad's birthday today. My dad is so cute. When I was little, and all I wanted to eat was donuts, he gave me the nickname "Fat Reagy". So I called him Fat Daddy in return and it always stuck. It's funny because look how trim he is (circa 1986).
Anyway, I would like to meet someone who thinks they had a more fun dad than me. I owe a great deal of my sillyness to him. He was always silly with us and still is. Making crazy faces, doing crazy dances, talking in crazy voices.....
I can't believe he is 59. My, my....how time flies.
Gummer and Elvis
It's also Elvis Aron Pressley's birthday. Elvis was my first crush ever. I wasn't really allowed to have normal crushes yet, so with support of my family, I became completely infatuated with Elvis at a really young age. I had several books, cds, movies and t-shirts to worship and we went to graceland as a family. For my birthday, I was also taken to an Elvis impersonator and he kissed me and I was repulsed. I remember him being very sweaty. I'm so over old Elvie. Anyway, happy birthday!

Dear Nathan
Happy Birthday Nathan! My older brother is 27 today. Nathan is my bff and I love him so. As you can see by the picture, he has always taken good care of me. Except for the time we played Robin Hood when we were 8 and 6. He dropped me from a 10 foot rope swing to save himself, and swinging together was HIS idea in the first place. Other than that, he has always looked out for me.
I wish I were there to celebrate with You and Mel! I hope you have the best day EV!!!
Note from author: January/February is Baker birthday season, so expect several of these posts.
