let me just quickly share how this all happened. i want to remember as many details as i can. this was a day i'll remember forever....i'll tell my children's children about it.

last tuesday i had THE WORST DAY. i rear ended someone on my way back from seeing piper jane, that's enough to get my point across. so at work things are looking up and i'm pretty busy. i feel my phone vibrating in my back pocket, but i'm with a client. so when i finish her up, chat with her about the weather/yankees/economy/elections/halloween i get my tip and sit down. i finally check my phone and open an email that says something like EXCLUSIVE WEEZER RECORDING FASTEST EMAIL REPLIES WIN!!! i'm like, crap, it's been 35 minutes. but my heart is pounding so fast that i just send off an email anyway. then i read the fine print and realize i had the wrong subject, so i send off another. then i'm worried that i'll be disqualified for sending off two. long story short, i didn't hear back for almost 4 days, but that doesn't matter, all that matters is that i won. and that i was able to get work off and so was carly.

now for today. we had fourth row seats. we were super close. it was at the hard rock cafe and there were only about 45 winners. the more carly and i looked around, the more lucky and honored we felt. the whole thing was a really big deal, not just because i'm such a fan. i mean, weezer has been big for 15 years and they are really quite popular..to see such a well known band in such a small setting was really incredible.

since it was for a live xm radio show, it was about half interviewing and half songs. they played six songs all together that went like this....

~whole band "why bother" Pinkerton <-my VERY favorite song ~whole band "say it aint so" Blue ~whole band "Buddy Holly" Blue ~whole band "if youre wondering if i want you to, i want you to" raditude. i felt really lucky that they played why bother, because it is lesser known than a lot of their stuff. it comes from my favorite album. carly and i could hardly control ourselves so we stood up and danced to buddy holly, and we were the only ones! rivers loved it so much and started mimicking our dance moves. i waved at him and he waved back. i think that is my new thing....waving. anyway, getting a wave from rivers that was obviously to me, was one of the highlights of my life. silly? nope..
ok, i have to gush for a second. at the end of it rivers was giving bumpsies to a bunch of people so carly and i walked up just as he was walking off stage. we were so sad and started talking to a security guard. Carly was all "hey, can we go backstage?" and he was like " ok, follow me"

then we about peed.

then we went backstage. we waited for a little bit and look who came out.. Brian Bell. he is one of the originals. ok, he isn't a totally original weezer, but he joined the band right before they recorded blue album, so that is basically from day one in my opinion. here is carly backstage.
when brian introduced himself, i was doing a pretty good job of keeping my cool. but then i lost it and was all "weezer is my favorite band of my life. i love you guys. i've seen a ton of your shows. i'll be at your halloween show. i'm not scary but i am crazy.'' are you wondering if i really said all those things? because i did. how embarrassing, right? i said ALL of those things. even the last one, word for word. he was a little creeped out, which makes me really sad. i'm so sorry for being creepy, brian, you were way too nice to me. when i said my name, he said "megan?" and i said "no, reagan" and then i thought to myself, it totally doesn't matter what my name is, it's really wonderful that he cared to make sure he had my name right. then i went crazy and scared him. embarrassing. oh well.


then guess who i met. Rivers' wife and daughter. i chatted with his wife for a minute and told her that our daughters were just two weeks apart in age and that was very special for me. then i shook little mia's tiny hand and told her she was so cute. They are awesome. i scared them too. i never meant to.

so, this was my day. i know that was a lot of writing, but i'm sure i am even missing something. i just had the best day ever and i never want to forget it.

*moral of the story, if you have a favorite band, you should really be in their fanclub. so worth it.

Over the weekend, Noah came to meet Piper Jane. His mom is one of my best friends of all time. Noah is 11 months old and lives in Las Vegas. Although in this first picture they dont look like they cared much for each other, they did.
And it was cute.

here is Piper Jane watching noah's every move. he is a very active little boy and Pipsey was very entertained.

they look deep in conversation. Piper is all "hey i got a good idea, do you like glow frogs?".

I really love this picture because she looks a little nervous for some reason. maybe because he kept pulling her hair hahah! she got him back though by poking him in the eye over and over.

ok, this was such a fun weekend with Piper Jane. It was great to see Pip's interaction with Noah. The only other times I've seen her this interested in another kid is with Maebe, who is just a little older than Noah. It's nice to compare her to Noah in different developmental areas. Noah obviously is quite a bit bigger than Piper, but in many ways, she is up to his speed. They were even interested in the same toys and kept stealing them from each other! I wish he lived close so we could get them together more often!

lastly, check out piper checking out apple sauce. so, i guess that question is answered....she even taps her food.

kim is one of my best friends. she was basically like a sister to me during my short time in atlanta. speaking of being a 'basically sister', kim knows my whole family and still gets together with them even though i am not there anymore. she has spent christmas with us and had many crepe brunches at jody's condo. we all love her. she is the best. anyway, she came to see me! i'm so happy! we hung out with piper! and piper liked her too. Kim kept saying "she loves me! I knew she would!", and she was right.


kim and i then picked up derek and headed up to kitchenette for some day lunch. chickpea burger, delish. i can't say enough about the tastiness of this food. then we came to my apartment for some haircuts and chatting. it was lots of fun. We are hoping to get together a few more times before she goes back to atlanta. i hope i always live somewhere cool that people like to visit.

by the way...any ideas of how to make chicken pot pie half vegetarian?

it was precious from beginning to end. penelope tried to put stickers on piper's face, hair and trach tubes. piper tried to steal penelope's binkie. adeline smothered piper with hugs. and how about piper's hand on penelope's knee? that is where i just about lost it. i've never seen piper interact with children like she did today. it was like she didn't want much to do with me and was afraid of me embarrassing her in front of her friends. these three girls are as sweet as they come.

reading a bargain for frances to the girls. i loved this book when i was a small kiddie. adeline is curling up with some cheese chickadees and piper looks like she can't wait to find out what happens next.

seeing piper play with her friends made me think all day about how much i want her to come home so we can do it more often. i feel so guilty leaving my wee P when she is clearly having the time of her life. for the last little bit i have felt content with her being at blythedale, but that is wearing off and i am missing her more and more when i'm not there. i think she gets bored during the day and really looks forward to our time together. did i ever tell you that that is what i've always wanted? to know that piper loves me and wants me around? that is what i got and it feels like a million bucks. but now i want more, ok?
