P is for piper, that's good enough for me.
It was one of those very busy visits with Piper today. She made me earn my snuggles. By the time I finished suctioning her, changing her diaper, cleaning up her throw up, suctioning her again, changing her bedding, changing her clothes, suctioning her again, changing her trach ties, silencing her vent, suctioning her for the 6th time....you get the point. I was a little overwhelmed + tired to boot. It was worth it in the end. Piper wanted to play, play and play some more. We stood, we smiled, we snuggled. We are bff. Hooray!
And don't make fun of Piper because her hair looks like she lives in whoville instead of blythdale. It was driving her and myself crazy so I pulled up in the fastest pony I could because she kept swatting my hands away. She is getting so strong! For some reason her pony curled the wrong way and her nurse was calling her Alfalfa.
ps today I was rocking out with Piper when I suddenly noticed her looking suspicious. I looked over the side of the rocking chair and saw this:
Piper totally tried to sneak out that hole!

Putting the mother in smother
So here I am, snuggling my angel while she sleeps in my arms. This NEVER happens. I've snuck in about a hundred kisses because she doesn't normally let me do that either. My adorable little pip-squeak, stay a baby forever!!

PIPER, LIVE! TONIGHT! SOLD OUT!!!
The title is just a fancy way of saying HOLY CRAP PIPER IS AWESOME!!!
That's right, feast your eyes on the puppy (or Pippy) that I'm about to reveal........Piper Jane completed two hours of trach collar yesterday and more than three hours today! That means, NO VENT! Just oxygen. Pretty amazing. I mean, seriously amazing.
She was supposed to do 4 hours today, and I think she could have, but she started to get a little tired from breathing all on her own like a big girl. At the first sign of fatigue, we decided to not push it and give the champ a rest.
Did I mention that Piper is my everything? I want to scream down the stairwell that I have the most amazing baby in the world. And don't get me wrong, I would, but I just don't think I can scream louder than my neighbor's music. Piper, I just love you so much that I want to wallpaper my apartment with your pictures. I would like to snuggle you until you turn 30. Maybe I will.
Oh yeah, Piper also sent her first text message today. It said "Jjhj". Every time she sees me holding my phone she reaches out and swipes it from me like, how dare I play with something so fun right in front of her?
