HomeGoods Shopping Event and Giveaway!
Last modified: June 30, 2011The HomeGoods shopping event was so much fun. I met up bright and early on Saturday morning with 6 of my friends at the new HomeGoods location on Columbus Avenue ready to shop. They had bagels, scones and fruit for us to munch on while we discussed our plans of attack. Some of us were going for practical and some of us (me) were going for party time and all fun. We all got our giftcards and split up to shop! I went straight for the glasswear section. I have wanted one of those big drink jugs with a spout for a long time, and since I’ve been planning a bridal shower, it seemed like the perfect time. They had so many for me to choose from, I could even specify between gold or silver spouts! I chose one with a slightly blue tint, which looked really pretty with the pink tablecloth it was sitting on!
Here is how it looked at the shower!
Erin looked through the kitchen-wear and found a great grilling pan, Abbie looked for bathroom rugs and towels, Carl searched for things to go in his new apartment (he’s heading off to get his MBA at Duke University), Kristy spent most of her time in the linens area, Sarah picked up some wedding gifts and Amanda Blair scored a comfy foam mattress topper and new pillows that she says makes her want to never get out of bed again. Going shopping with so many friends and seeing their different shopping finds made me realize how much you can get in one location. HomeGoods seems to have everything you need.
I also picked up a big blue teflon pot (Yay! This was practical of me!), some fancy wine glasses because I like to drink everything out of wine glasses (sports drinks, water, iced tea, diet coke…super fance, you should try it), a pretty cake stand for the shower, some adorable little genie looking bottles to hold olive oil and vinegar and an adorable wooden duck wearing rain gear. I couldn’t help myself with that one. That is where I’m at the opposite end of the practical spectrum. But he is the cutest and he stole my heart.

And here is my adorable rain gear wearing duck.
It was such a fun shopping trip with some of my favorite people. I could stroll through HomeGoods for hours.
PS I almost forgot to mention the pink lemonade flavored bubble gum I picked up near the register! We had a contest at the shower and Sarah won!
