So, Erin trip….Where were we. Yes, the PIPtures! Don’t let this first picture fool you. At first you might be like “this is just your ordinary pipture of a Pip and uncle box monster”. But you’d be very wrong. Number one, look at Piper Jane’s creepy-ish elbow lean. Isn’t that diable? <-can we start saying diable? With this arm lean and eyebrow raising, you’re not sure if it’s a pip or if it’s a used car salesman that is going to make a special deal just for you if you don’t tell any of your friends. Number two is that she is holding a princess birthday card that Grandma Susan sent her. Piper Jane loves this card.

Erin has a gift of making children love her. Pippy hasn’t seen her in over a year and she was doing her little scoot/crawl over to her with no coaxing at all. I have never really seen her leave me for another person before. I got jeal. (what? You’re not jeal when your kid prefers others?)

Pipsey crawled under this chair to get her princess card. You can see her guarding hand on it protectively. Alls I wanna say is this, nobody told Piper Jane to like Princesses. She just does. Little girls like princesses even when they aren’t influenced to like them. I have never bought Pip anything pink, princessy or girly, but the P, P or G’ly stuff she has is her favorite. Isn’t that weird? How does she know she is supposed to like princesses when she doesn’t even know what a princess is or does? How phylosophical am I tonight? They say Reagan Breinholt does her crosswords with a pen (guess the song I’m referencing).

After our Pippy visit, we went home and ordered Indian food and had a rooftop picnic. I wish so badly I could say Pipnic. One day I will say Pipnic. Back to this….I complain about our neighbors and neighborhood, but this picture is rad, and it makes me apreciate what a cool place I live in dispite my inconsiderate neighbs.

We spent that evening on the Lower East Side with some friends. It was fun to go dancing like old times. Jake pooped out and stayed home with his blanky and sippy cup and baby einsteins dvds.

My above shoes are from madewell. I get asked often about them. They are the most comfortable shoes since sliced shoes? No? That’s not a thing? Well, I love these shoes so much. I have kissed them.

Renegade Art show the next day in Brooklyn. Also some frozen yog’s and a little thrifting. I got a dress, but nothing from the show even thought I wanted a clock real bad.

Tuesday morning we went to see Piper Jane. I’m so glad because she was really sleepy the first night we went. She was much more her usual personality and we all peed. You know, laughing.

A Pippy/uncle box monster snuggle-fest. Nevermind that there is a felt tree sticking out of Pip’s romper. Just a little weird. Nothing to see here…

JR got a little motion sickness on the drive up so when we got there he wanted to lay down for a bit. Erin got snuggly with him and Piper Jane left MY LAP to crawl over and join the snuggs. Again, she has never done that! She immediately got to work tapping Erin’s face. We all know Pipers like to tap. We don’t really know why they like to tap, they just do. It’s like this….Jake feels like he needs to run a certain number of miles per week, I feel like I need to spend a certain amount of dollars per week, Piper Janes feel like they need to tap a certain amount of things per second. Does that make sense, class?

That night after I got off work, Erin, JR and I met up at Westville for some dinner. You should all eat there. It’s on W 10th St. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in the city. And they have themselves quite the queen of a host. Even though he was rude to us and blamed us for all of his problems, he was somehow lovable. Then we walked to the Chelsea Hotel where they were staying and talked about life.

She really has accomplished a lot in the last year. Most importantly, surviving the bilateral pneumonia in January. It really knocked her off her feet, and I feel triumphant that she is here to turn three! Take that bisuckeral pneumonia. (dont even laugh at “bisuckeral” if you have any self respect)

How’s this for an out of no where image for ya? Rose has seen much MUCH much better days. In fact, she down right looks like s***.

Back to Pippy the soon to be three year old….I wonder what 3 will be like. Will she still kick me in the head and pretend she is just stretching? Is she going to hear the real sublime version of “garden grove” and be confused that it isn’t really a lullaby? Why do we still sing that to her anyway? I mean, it has the F word. (btw, we say “hang around” instead)

I’m so proud of Pipsey. She spunked herself right into another birthday, even though she probably didn’t feel like it on some days. hooray.

How’s this for unrelated part II? Piper Jane’s best friend/roommate is currently out for surgery and Pippy is like a love sick puppy. The first night he was gone she stayed awake the whole night waiting for him to come back and when I hold her, she stands on my lap and looks for him. I don’t know how to prove that she is actually looking for him, but I just know she misses him so much. It is tied for first as the sweetest and saddest thing ever.

I just noticed that I call my mother “mom” when I’m talking about her and “mama” when I’m talking to her. Isn’t that weird?

seriously, i am set after a day like today. no complaining for a year.

jake and i had a nice long pip-filled day. we both had some work projects this afternoon, so we tried to get to b-dale a little early to cram in some good times before we go to utah this week. are you ready? here is the stunner…piper jane wasnt a total spas case. i know, right? apparently, they had been weening a little too quickly, and that was part of the reason she was being such a terror (i mean that in the nicest loving mother way possible). so, they are going to go slower. today was the best visit i’ve had with pipsey in over a month. she still wasn’t very smiley or playful, but she also wasn’t abusive or irritable. that’s all right, because thankfully, i have a lot of really adorable pip smiles previously caught on camera to get by until i can get some more live action ones.

since i had a thing to go to, i couldn’t risk getting formula leaked all over me (it happens. and it happens a lot) from pip’s g-tube, so at first i refused to hold her. i told jake that since i could see her on tuesday, he could have her. eventually, i got jeal. it worked out because jake had to leave the room and he handed my pipsqueak over to me. by the way, let me interrupt to say that i regularly take naps in piper’s crib. the thing is huge. it’s really not that weird. i mean, it’s not that weird to me. other people kind of make a big deal about it…not at b-dale…and one previous hospital person was like “get out”. anyway, that explains these pics. back to the story, jake handed my pipsqueak over and she immediately laid down with me. something she doesn’t usually do. i melted like butter on a hot skillet.

camille, if you are reading, piper likes the kitty cat a lot. the only reason i’m using it as a pillow, was because my head needed to be just a little higher. and kitty did the trick.

pip can be very snuggly, but then she always ruins it by putting her finger all the way up your nose. or by trying to pull of your eyelashes.

yay, a good day! i’m so happy! like i said, we are going to utah on wednesday, and we have started getting nervous to leave because of piper’s slow recovery. today helped a little with that.

anyway, it was nice to see a tiny glimpse of my little peep. it has been a very difficult month without her sassy sass. i feel like i’ve lost my mojo too. my last few posts were booorrrriiiiiiing. i might as well have been talking about the Pythagorean theorem. <-i can hardly remember what that is, but it is my favorite thing to whip out at times like this…..

ps, when i am in piper’s crib and she isn’t, it totally throws her off. i’m talking, it realllllly confuses her. you should all do it to your kids and see how they react.

So when I was leaving work today I decided to walk up to the train on 96th instead of the one on 86th. I had my phone out with camera mode ready to snap (if I saw her doing something scandalous I could sell it to Star Magazine and be rich!!), but then it happened. I saw her getting out of a black SUV and she even had body guards with her. She started walking towards me. She was right in front of me. There was no one else around. She looked right at me. I looked right at her. I thought about taking a picture, I started to life my phone…..and…I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t shamelessly take her picture when she was watching me. You know..living her glamorous life and all that. I had to just give her my prettiest smile and hope that it would brighten her day a bit. Is that lame? Do you guys even believe me without a grainy, camera-phone shot? I promise I saw her. And she was really pretty. Hooray!!!

PS I really am team Aniston when it comes to her and Angelina. I don’t forget about viles of blood and making out with your own brother as soon as most of america seems to.

ps i watched it on dvr later to see if the camera adds 10 pounds. they showed us a million times. (maybe because we were front and center)

I got spoiled for Christmas, but I think I deserved it. I have been asking for a Helen Ficalora charm necklace for over a year, HOORAY!!! Jake even got me two charms. A “P” for Piper and a “J” for Jake! Yay!
